The 2026 State Election is now just days away and People for Public Transport has been pushing to put public transport back on the policy agenda, where it belongs.

Last month, we asked the transport spokespeople from the Labor Party, The Liberal Party, the Greens, and One Nation to respond to our election survey. The survey asked them to outline their policies and commitments for public transport, including for key areas of our platform such expanding the bus networks, extending the tram line, and support for regional rail, and reducing public transport fares.

You can read the survey questions and the Greens' response here, the Liberal Party's Response here, and Labor's response here.

One Nation did not respond to our survey.

Our Committee reivewed the responses developed this election scorecard to help voters compare the options and inform their choice of who to vote for. Please share it with family, friends, and any person you know who cares about public transport

Across SA there is a strong and growing need to get more people on to public transportation. Without investment, Adelaide will be stuck in traffic gridlock, buses will be overcrowded, and people in the city, suburbs, and regions will be unable to access the jobs and services they need.

Whatever the outcome of the election, People for Public Transport will continue to fight for better public transport for all South Australians. Join us now to be part of the movement for change.
